Youth and Childrens Ministries
Children ages 3 through 5th grade are invited to join us each week for our Young Explorers Bible Study, where we discover God's Love through Relationships, Experience, and Wonder. We meet during the Sunday School each week at 9:30am in the Primary Chapel. Each week in our sixty-minute sessions, children explore a key Bible verse and learn through play, interactive lessons, and practical application. Together with a team of caring volunteers, they will discover the different aspects of God's love.
Bridgeport UMC offers Youth in grades 6-12 many exciting opportunities for spiritual growth, learning, fellowship, and service.
Youth Sunday School meets at 9:30am in the Youth Room in the Education Building.
On Sunday evenings, we offer a youth experience for both Middle School and Senior High students.
4:30-5:30 pm - Senior High Youth (Youth Room in Education Building)
5:30-6:00 pm - Seraphim Youth Choir (Fellowship Hall Stage)
6:00-7:00 pm - Middle School Youth (Youth Room in Education Building)
7:00-7:30 pm - Youth Handbell Choir (Balcony)

CHILDREN AND YOUTH MUSIC MINISTRIES
We offer many opportunies for children and youth to be involved in the worship and music ministries of the Church. Our Children and Youth Choirs participate in our worship services on a monthly basis and on other special occassions throughout the year.
Our current music opportunities and rehearsal times include:
Cherub Choir - ages 3 (as of July 1, 2024) through 1st grade - Rehearsals Sundays at 5:00pm in the Primary Chapel (lower Church doors across the street from Simpson Elementary School). Contact Jenny Lawson at 304-669-0618 or blawson@ma.rr.com.

Children’s Choirs will work on fun vocal techniques, Bible stories, and rhythm instruments!

Youth and Children’s Choirs usually participate in the 10:45 Worship Service once a month and participate in the Churchwide Christmas Pageant.

Children are not required to sing in Church in order to participate in Choirs.
On Sundays during our 10:45am Worship Service, children in grades Kindergarten through Second Grade are invited to participate in our Children's Church. During this time, age-appropriate lessons and activities will be shared to help your child learn about God, the Bible, and what it means to follow Jesus. Children meet the Children's Church leaders in the back of the Sanctuary after the opening hymn during the sharing of our Ministry Stewardship and Opportunities.
The Church Nursery is where first steps are practiced, lifelong friendships are made, and the unconditional love of Christ is first learned. We are grateful for our caring nursery workers who love and serve our Church’s youngest worshippers each week. Our Nursery is available at the following times:
